Yes, some folks might get confused and not realise they can go and set it higher if they wish, but by the same token we didn't want to make the page take too long to download. I've got ti set to 50, which might be a fair compromise. Perhaps we should run a poll - see what the consenus is? Settingt he default higher would not stop folks going in and settign their preferences to a lower figure if they wish. Re: American English. Unfortunately Jive came with a U.S. dictionary. |

I don't know why this new difficult forum was even considered, the old one was easy, and always worked perfectly for me! I see no improvement here. It is just harder to use!! |

I'm surprised you think the old site was better, that doesn't seem to be the general opinion. The old site was much slower, plagued by time-outs and multiple posts, and not as customisable to your own preferences as this. But there's no accounting for taste, I guess. |

| 56170 | 2002-07-15 01:21:00 | vince, what browser are you using? i'm using opera on 98se on a dunga of a machine and it works fine, it even works on that M$ browser...... ye-gads i dont want to go back to the old ways, this new format is great, the old one in the final weeks were only up on a good day, i'm yet to find downtime or any real problems since its realease There were a few during the beta testing, but even they were trivial compared to the problems the main site was having. |
