| 56722 | 2002-06-23 08:24:00 | windows 95 internet explorer 4.0 when i try to open my computer, network neighbourhood, recycle bin, briefcases and folders, a window saying (or something similar) please choose a program to open the file shdocw.dll. if i select explorer, which is used for opening windows (i think) it starts a download window and then closes. what do i do to fix this? |

| 56723 | 2002-06-23 09:13:00 | Craig, I can't help with your problem but I have a little advice for you: I've noticed that a lot of the people offering information to help you are regular people around here and I've also noticed that a lot of the time you don't provide feedback to say whether their information assisted or not. From experience, I know that it's very encouraging when someone takes the time to post feedback and/or a thank you when help has been offered, whether it worked or not. It only takes a minute and you'll find that people will continue to help you if you do. If it is too much bother for you to say thanks or give feedback then you will eventually find that other people will notice this and they will simply start ignoring you too. |

| 56724 | 2002-06-23 09:36:00 | Hi Craig, I seem to remember a virus (can't remember the name) having the same syptoms as you describe, Have you done a virus scan? If you can't get antivirus program to run go to www.antivirus.com & use the free online scan. cheers Steve |
