56616 2002-06-22 23:46:00 I am getting a message Kernel32-general protection fault in module KRNL386.EXE at 0001:000075a8. what is kernel32 and how does it operate? And please how do I fix it? Thank you krissie (570)
56617 2002-06-22 23:58:00 KRNL386 is the central 'core' of windows. Each program or process is allocated unique areas of memory for their operation. The message you are getting suggests that a process or program has attempted to access an area of memory that isn't allocated to it - hence windows 'traps' the attempt, to try to preserve other processes from getting invaded.

Can you relate the message to a specific operation (e.g. on startup, loading Word, attempting to print etc)?

Has the problem started after loading any new software?

This is a good general discussion of Kernel32 error messages and what you can try.
