I ran the program 'Easi clean' of this months Imag, and under unnecessary files it came up with a whole lot of *.bkf files, like the one below they where all in the windows update directory, what are they and is it ok to delete them. C:\Program Files\WindowsUpdate\72782.bkf . Thanks in advance for any help. ?:| |

| 57131 | 2002-06-25 07:09:00 | cadifan is correct in suggesting that this is a backup file. The windows update folder is only used to store updates before they are installed by the OS. All files in this folder should be safe to delete, safest thing to do if you are not sure is to move them to another folder for a couple of days and if Windows doesn't complain then delete them. If you are likely to reinstall again then you may want to back up some of these file to save downloading them again next time. |

| 57136 | 2002-06-26 13:29:00 | Interesting exercise Did a search for temp files (*.tmp )and found 12 MB????? so sent them to the recycle bin. Will leave them there for a few days to see if Windoze objects PS did a spell check on this message and it found windoze but didnt provide a correct alternative. Maybe Robo should add it to the spell check dictionary.( It gets plenty of usage ;\ ]:) |
