| 56998 | 2002-06-24 22:32:00 | I have just got XP PRO, and was wondering what MSN Explorer is? For the record I had no problems installing XP, It is running very well considering it only a 166MHz processor and 64MB RAM. I haven't surfed the net using it yet. will do that at about 1 or 2pm to day. See ya later. :D :D :) :) ;) |

You need a hotmail or other MSN Passport account to use it - I find it far better just to use Internet Explorer and Outlook (or Outlook Express). Mike. |

E-mail, instant messaging, Web browsing, and more are integrated in a friendly program that works with your existing Internet connection, so get it today! :) |

| 57002 | 2002-06-25 03:51:00 | To me it is bloatware . My daughter downloaded and installed it without my permission a couple of months ago and it caused a lot of problems on my Win 98 PC . I got rid of it smartly (MSN Explorer that is) . |

| 57005 | 2002-06-25 21:46:00 | I thought I would try it out . So I did . I didn't like so I won't be using it again . Now it came with XP Pro that I have installed, so is there an uninstall for it?? Cheers :) |

| 57006 | 2002-06-25 23:32:00 | To remove MSN Explorer and other XP components: 1. Edit the hidden system file SYSOC.INF in the Windows/Inf folder (or WINNT/Inf if you upgraded from NT or 2000). 2. Delete all instances of the word HIDE. Don't put any spaces in between the commas. 3. Save your changes. 4. Open 'Add or Remove Programs' in Control Panel. 5. Click on 'Add/Remove Windows Components'. You will now see options for 'Accessories and Utilities' (the programs in the Accessories menu on the Start panel), MSN Explorer and several other components. 6. Uncheck the tick box to remove that component or check it to install it from your XP CD. As always, be careful of what you remove! |
