57138 2002-06-25 06:31:00 Running Win98SE P166 64 Ram. My mouse has suddenly started to misbehave by freezing momentarily in all programmes. By this I mean I am unable to get it to respond for a second or two and then it recommences normal behaviour. This is happening with increasing frequency. Any ideas on a cause and/or solution will be gratefully received. Thanks Smurf (506)

57140 2002-06-25 10:07:00 Could be a couple of things, the first one that springs to mind would be to clean the mouse ball and rollers.
The second thing that could be causing it is a memory shortage.

You could even try replacing the mouse, remember mice don't last forever.

57142 2002-06-26 09:54:00 Mine actually had an out-of-round ball (or at least it behaved that way).
Now I use an Optical, it's the best way to go. B-)
