How can I get redhat to detect my external modem? I have an internal winmodem which I would like to burn, but I have no idea how to make redhat detect my external one! :( The external modem is an old dynalink 33.6k from 98-99 Rockwell DPF PnP. Any help would be fab!!! :) |

External modems should be easy to setup - login as root and startx. You will find an internet connection wizard (offically called rp3 from memory) on your desktop. All you should have to do is step through the wizard to set up your internet account (including sensing your modem). |

The above is assuming you are using GNOME. If you are using KDE, use kppp. |
