| 57474 | 2002-06-26 11:20:00 | Hi I have just reloaded Britannica 2000 on my PC,after upgrading to 98se from '95 a few months ago, however, now I get an error that says"Unable to start the application, the class files could not be loaded.Unexpected failure." It worked fine under '95,but not now.Any ideas why not? Peter Coleman |

A PC which doesn't have the correct version of the VM will not be able to run any application that accesses the Windows Foundation Classes (WFC) . The same would be true of a Java application using a specific Java package that hasn't been installed on the pc . See the following URL for an updated MS VM . . microsoft . com/java/vm/dl_vm40 . htm" target="_blank">www . microsoft . com Cheers, Babe . |

Thanks anyway for the quick reply, and hopefully I'll use my brain sooner next time. Peter |
