57194 2002-06-25 10:25:00 I am running Win98 and would like to view pic's (thumbnails) in windows explorer - (jpg, gif, bmp) I had this function but it has decided not to be available!!
I want it back and have tried everything... I'm not new to windows either.
I have done the normal stuff - look in file types -It does show web pages and text etc.
Any help would be much appreciated.
I have searched and found 3 similar requests, but NO answers to any of them.
Cheers

57195 2002-06-25 10:54:00 Hi Mike,

Yes, I did a search on this site and the thread seems to be broke, so you only can see one message and none of the links to it :( Anyway, I found a page that details a fix for this problem: www.computerhope.com It involves some registry editing, but as you say you aren't new to Windows that shouldn't be a problem.

Cheers,
Rod.

57196 2002-06-25 11:02:00 I used to have Preview (Quick View) enabled in Win 98, and when I checked a file in Windows explorer, if there was an image in that file a thumbnail would appear.

Is that what you need?

I'm inexperienced so can't help further.

Look in Start/ help/ then type the word* Preview*, and click on display.

It will explain all about Quick view for files.

Cheers,

Start; Settings; Control Panel; Add/Remove Programs; Windows Setup; Accessories; Quick view

Come to think of it... I seem to have lost it as well... Forgot to put it back since last reformat? ...

57201 2002-06-26 07:26:00 Hi ya

As per tweaki'es post. Go to veiw, then enable view as web page. If you want all your folders to follow suit go View, Folder Options, View and hit the Like Current Folder button.
