| 57165 | 2002-06-25 10:01:00 | I recently tried to uninstall McAfee v5 from my mum's campaq laptop. I had to manually delete the files, as there was no uninstaller. Because when i tried to use the v6 setup programme to uninstall it, it came up with an error about not being able to connect to the disconnected network (J:) drive. I had to delete any registry entries pointing towards this J drive before sucessfully installing v6. Any ideas as to why? Brendon |

The installation would have been done via the networked drive which would point to install files on the server. (J) There is a client (on the laptop) and the server runs netshield. Netshield downloads definitons which are normally pushed to clients when they connect to the network. The server manages the client and has options to restrict the ability for the client to uninstall, show the icon on the desktop etc. You would need Mcafee Netshield installed to see the options available. |
