| 57744 | 2002-06-27 08:54:00 | recently just discovered the joys of L.A.N Parties and was wondering is there anyway of chattin using a similar setup to mIRC, where we have a channel and people can just type messages as they feel fit. I know someones gonna say "why dont u just yell across the room?" and i dont really know why. we are all using Win 98 | Pete O'Neil (250) | ||

I don't know if this will work directly, but there used to be a programme included in Windows 95/NT/98 called "Win Popup" I remember at university having great fun with this sending bogus warning messages to people and getting them to go to the Computer Support Unit to "have their student ID cards confiscated" for some bogus reason >:) Anyway, I ran it on my LAN at home at one stage (which served no purpose since the two machines were right next to each other). If you know the username you're sending to it'll send it to whichever machine they're logged onto and you can add hours of fun for the whole family :) HTH Callum |
