| 1305126 | 2012-10-04 21:27:00 | Just installed a SSD and fresh install of windows7 and noticed in the device manager that listed under other devices there is a question mark so i have no Ethernet, SM bus controller and USB controller and can not update drivers because there is none to update, do i need these anyway? | PeterQ (16315) | ||

If your machine is a brand-name one like Dell etc, look up the model on the appropriate site and find the drivers there. If it's not, you will find the latest generic drivers from the manufacturer of the hardware usually, for things like Chipset, Ethernet, Video etc. There are some exceptions, but the generic drivers from the hardware manufacturer are usually the most up to date and best choice. USB and SMBus typically from the motherboard maker \ PC maker as the hardware manufacturers don't always supply these themselves. |
