1305105 2012-10-04 09:08:00 Just added a 2TB HDD to this HP Pavilion Elite HPE-070a - works fine other than that I can't configure the SATA mode to AHCI or IDE mode, it's set to RAID in BIOS. When I changed to AHCI or IDE mode, Windows fails to start (BSOD).

It starts perfectly OK when it's in RAID mode - other than the Intel Matrix Storage Manager option appears briefly, showing the two installed HDDs as Non-RAID Disks; then proceeds to booting up Win 7.

Is it OK to leave the SATA mode to RAID in the BIOS setup?

1305106 2012-10-04 09:22:00 if there is no raid controller then they should act as normal discs also use blue screen viewer to post the log file. Slankydudl (16687)
1305107 2012-10-04 10:24:00 The bluescreen is to be expected if you change the boot mode. Yes it will be fine in RAID mode. Alex B (15479)
