In the pantheon of really tedious things people really, really hate to do, making the bed is right up there with taking out the trash . You can either just get used to as one of those fundamental requirements to be accepted as a respectable, hygienic carbon-based life form . Sort of like combing your hair in the morning and paying your taxes on time . Or you can hire a maid . However, there´s now a third way in which you not only don´t have to lift a finger, but can also even give you god-like status among your peers . It´s called the Smart Bed, introduced by Spanish furniture maker OHEA ( . smartplanet . com/blog/thinking-tech/it-exists-a-bed-that-makes-itself/11919?tag=nl . e660" target="_blank">www . smartplanet . com) as a one-of-a-kind mattress set that actually makes itself . VIDEO of a bed actually making itself::: . youtube . com/watch?v=hrWEenI_ozM&feature=player_embedded" target="_blank">www . youtube . com or ::: . youtube . com/watch?v=hrWEenI_ozM&feature=player_embedded#t=0s" target="_blank">www . youtube . com I ain't buying it though . I sleep under a blanket (like she did) but also under a sheet and a comforter . I'd like to see it try to handle all three layers! Who sleeps under JUST a blanket? Not me! I want silk sheets making contact with me, not a scratchy blanky! Not gonna happen methinks! And what happens if you pull the foot of the bed covers up and out of their relative tucked-in position? Huh? And the pillows - mine are usually either on the floor or inside the blanket with me in the morning . That's ain't gonna fly either I'm afraid . What this bed needs is AI to figure out what I'll do - and I might do something different every night - to MY bedcovers . Then there's my Teddy Bears - OK - I don't actually SLEEP with them, but they fall off the headboard sometimes and I bet that totally confuses the automatic bed-making machinery . And what about candy wrappers and cookie (NZ= I dunnow) crumbs? Huh? I didn't see any sweeping them out either! Silly . |

| 1281093 | 2012-06-13 10:20:00 | Only takes a few minutes to make a bed. I do not need a machine to make my bed for me. Duvets do make like easier. | Bobh (5192) | ||
