1280607 2012-06-08 23:24:00 For those who recently got a Schick Hydro 5 razor, how are you finding it. I find mine excellent. Gives me a smooth close shave. One cartridge lasts me at least 2 weeks. I have stockpiled 5 packets of cartridges as they have been on sale for $15 instead of the usual $20. I use too use a Gillette Power Fusion razor with cartridges costing about $28 and never at a sale price. I think the Schick shaves just as got as the Fussion if not better.

1280608 2012-06-08 23:38:00 Never knew people go thru the blades so fast. The last time i changed mine was least 3 months ago. If it is not close enough, I just go over the area again .... I have the Fusion Power. Nomad (952)

1280610 2012-06-09 02:42:00 I get 3 shaves from a blade, with each shave getting more uncomfortable.

Any more then that and it rips me.

1280611 2012-06-09 03:07:00 Have a clean shave every couple of months, other then that it's over with the clippers a couple of times a week plod (107)
1280612 2012-06-09 03:44:00 I had someone insisting that it was corrosion that dulled the blades, and that keeping the head in oil will keep it sharp.

Can't claim to have tried it, and I remain somewhat sceptical.

I only use a blade if I've gone more than 2 days without using the rotary shaver.
The blades definitely get pretty savage on the job as they age, with a lot more pulling, and a need for a lot more repeat strokes to get the job done. I'd be surprised if I ever used a blade more than 10 times.

1280613 2012-06-09 04:51:00 The fusion with motor is good, requires less pressure, which is good with sensitive skin. Cicero (40)

I tried that, it didn't seem to make any difference.

Ah, good Ag, I am a sucker for the Myth, so that saves me thinking I should be trying that.
