1281268 2012-06-13 08:22:00 I found myself staring into the face of a Hyena, probably about to remove my face. It ran and I took a shot with my .455 revolver but missed. A Baby would not have stood a chance.
How old were you at the time.

I was going on 18 at the time, got called up for National Service before the crop came in. I had a Webley .455 Revolver on my belt and a .22 Beretta in a shoulder holster. One reason for the Beretta was that we had to hand our guns in at reception when entering the local Hotel. I also had a .300 Savage rifle for the pot.

1281270 2012-06-13 09:40:00 I just wonder about the evidence of blood up under the dash in the car, which I think was the main evidence the oz feld polizei tendered. They think she slit the throat of the kid in the car and the blood sprayed there.

It probably wasn't blood at all - see paragraph 12 of www.supremecourt.nt.gov.au

1281271 2012-06-13 10:01:00 Of course I can't add anything to the discussion - legally.

Sadly, my previous work history placed me in positions and in contact with information which I cannot make public.

Just don't assume that what you hear and have been told is correct.

Zippy must have been a member of the Australian Police Force to be so knowledgeable about these things. We should lay off him because if he tells us what he knows; he is likely to be arrested For Unlawful Criminal Knowledge Erroneous Divulgence

What a bunch of "know-it-alls" :(

Mods - please delete this thread. Can we delete users?

Interesting link thank you. It certainly throws doubt on the whole investigation.

1281273 2012-06-13 13:16:00 A Baby would not have stood a chance. I guess that depends on if the baby is packing a .455 Webley Revolver!! :D

mzee, you are allowed to miss with one of those, I have blasted many rounds from one of those and for me, hitting the target was more chance than from being good.

See below: About 11 yrs ago in my parents fruit orchard lol (its what you call "relaxing" down on the farm :) )
I guess I wont be going to the Olympic games now I have posted this.

1281274 2012-06-13 13:31:00 Guess you had to be there.......

The dingo had earlier been seen wearing a hat.

Well we know about the types that wear hats, the dingo is guilty.

This should have been brought up at the trial!

I am in work that gives me access to information that is considered private, it is no where near as sensitive to what zippity obvious had access to and I would never put myself in a position that even implies that I hold such knowledge. sam m (517)

Good for you.

1281277 2012-06-13 21:31:00 Dingos do attack people, not just babies.

If you were intending to kill an 8 week baby, the easiest would be to smother it, cot death happens all the time, and would be a lot harder to prove than cutting it's throat and then, in a campground go to this elaborate hassle of arranging things to look like an attack.

Common sense for one thing....
