| 1305484 | 2012-10-07 08:45:00 | Pressing and holding the alt and f10 keys during boot up should do it. Sorry but alt F10 does nothing. Any others have an idea? I'm off to be, will check back in the morning |

| 1305486 | 2012-10-07 08:58:00 | To access the recovery partition on your Acer computer for recovery, follow the steps listed below. 1. Power on the computer 2. At the white ACER BIOS screen, hold the Alt key and press the F10 key simultaneously to start Acer eRecovery. 3. Once eRecovery has loaded, click Restore to Factory Default Settings 4. Click OK to continue 5. From here, the eRecovery process will update all the data on the C: drive and restore a fully functional factory image (approximately 10 minutes). 6. Once eRecovery has run, press OK to reboot unit If the Recovery Partition is also stuffed up, then as mentioned before you may need to re-install from a USB drive with Windows install on it. Sometimes when they drop the image onto the drives theres a problem. "IF" This is whats happened then the recovery could also be no good. Trouble is if its a Starter edition, you would have to make a "universal" DVD first, AFAIK theres no downloads (legally to the public) of W7 Starter ISO's |

| 1305491 | 2012-10-07 22:42:00 | Yes I think an OS upgrade, to Linux, be faster. But how do you update, when it doesn't have a CD? I have 3 or 4 linux programs, but how do you write them to a memory card? |
