| 1305504 | 2012-10-07 06:44:00 | your cellphone and WiFi are on completely different frequencies and are not related | nmercer (3899) | ||
| 1305505 | 2012-10-07 19:35:00 | He's right, one operates on 2.4Ghz (Microwave / Cordless phone), the your Cellphone at 850/900Mhz and potentially 1800 / 2100Mhz. The Cellphone won't interfere. | Chilling_Silence (9) | ||

If I turned on my microwave my wireless signal came to a screeching halt. Moving the modem solved that problem. Seen that happen as well at a customers house. They complained that the wireless was always dropping around dinner time. So as a matter of elimination, after looking and there was nothing obvious , we heated up some water in the microwave, and sure enough the wireless went down, and then off /on etc. Real strange. | wainuitech (129) | ||

Not really, MW ovens inhabit the same frequency band, and although they are not supposed to leak MW radiation, even when they are compliant with the safety specs they can still release enough energy to interfere with nearby equipment. It doesn't take much to corrupt a digital signal. Cheers Billy 8-{) |
