1304926 2012-10-04 02:11:00 Another way is to use Hiren's Bootcd which has a DOS 64MB ram drive option. It loads the full DOS 7 from Win98 into ram drive.

If you make a small partition on your hard drive and format it in FAT, then you can put your DOS programs and DOS data on there and it will become a C:\ drive assuming your other partitions are NTFS which DOS does not understand.

Is there anything on that thing that is legal?

1304929 2012-10-04 03:02:00 Well. it hasn't got this front page yet :banana Terry Porritt (14)
1304930 2012-10-04 03:12:00 Is there anything on that thing that is legal?I haven't used it, so I can't say for certain, but I believe there are a few open source apps on it as well. Erayd (23)
1304931 2012-10-04 04:18:00 It's changed a lot since a few years ago from totally dodgy to mostly not-so-dodgy. Stuff like ATF Cleaner, CCleaner, HD diagnostics, etc. Renegade (16270)
1304932 2012-10-04 04:21:00 I downloaded it once, ages ago. Most of the stuff appeared to be pirate. Agent_24 (57)
1304933 2012-10-04 05:48:00 Yeah, years ago it had stuff like Ghost, True Image, Partition Magic etc. That's all gone these days, replaced with DriveImage XML, Parted Magic and the like, although it hasn't been updated since last year. Renegade (16270)
1304934 2012-10-04 07:21:00 That's all gone these days...It still contains (at least) a pirate version of Windows XP, so it's definitely not all gone. I'm not sure what else they distribute without a licence - it does seem like they've cleaned things up a bit - but I would be very surprised if everything that remains is legal. Erayd (23)
1304935 2012-10-04 09:30:00 What about DOSBox - there is a version for just about every OS inlcuding Linux. See http://www.dosbox.com/ johnd (85)
