2012-06-08 02:00:00 | The Westfield shopping center management will be delighted. Why would anyone shop the central city when everything can be found out in the suburbs with free parking? Exactly. Why would anyone want to come to the CBD, except to get drunk. Queen St is continuously being torn up, at night its full of drunks . Despite the council saying the want central Ak to be a vibrant, family friendly place, they do nothing to make the public want to go there . Sure we can all take the bus. Then I can do the remaining 20min walk to work from the bus stop, in the pouring rain . I'll get to work soaked. They are also talking about charging (taxing) employers who providing car parks for staff. Ak is too spread out for a public transport system to ever work properly. Most dont work or live close to bus stops. If they are really serious, sell all the council cars & council employee's can use public transport. Force all the city Councillors to use public transport to get to work, see how much they like it .

I was one of those drunks they talk about there now the only diff was in the old days we didn't fight unless it was necessary like if someone said something smart to you. |

2012-06-08 02:15:00 | They are doubling the size of St Lukes and building a massive mall at Westgate. Why would you want to go to the CBD unless to get hammered of if a tourist to get fleeced in a souvenir shop and stay in an overpriced hotel a zillion kms from the airstrip. | prefect (6291) | |
2012-06-08 02:26:00 | I think that they are trying to make it cheaper to go by public transport. Then wait for the next train and bus fare price hike in a few weeks then..

2012-06-08 04:25:00 | I suppose it's another way to reduce inner city traffic volumes... and easier to establish than a tolling operation. I find Auckland City parking a bit of a shocker already, so will probably already be numb to any price increase. A price of [obscenely high] + [obscenely more] still equals [obscenely high]. Imagine what a trip to the cinema will cost now! Luckily I seldom need to visit the place. A trip to the Cinema won't be too bad - The Council car parks are max $7.50 after 5pm (Well, Downtown one is - that's the one I use)

2012-06-08 04:54:00 | Yes I have a bit of a hate thing with the public transport here. Or lack of it. His train set is meant to go round CBD - so? How do you get there in the first place? I couldn't even take public transport to work here, no trains, buses - well there isn't one at the time I finish. On the way in it's ridiculous, have to take 3 buses, none close to the others, long walk in between, it would take 1 hr 15 mins at the fastest and 2 hours at the slowest, and lets pretend I could catch it home too, for this privilege it would cost $96 for 4 days of this joy. And they wonder why we drive. I get here in 20 mins. Home in 20 mins. Just so you can compare there......
