| 1305845 | 2012-10-08 20:14:00 | Does anyone here have a USB laptop dock that they can recommend? We need to replace ours due to constant reliability problems. :badpc: Ideally we need a DVI/HDMI port and a couple of USB ports at least. |

Are you talking about a docking station or port replicator A port rep usually plugs into the usb port, docking station is one the laptop sits on top of Docking station WILL need to be the exact match for the laptop(brand & model no), from the laptop manufacturer I'd expect the Laptop manufacturers port reps to be more reliable than the generic types. IBM/Lenovo make a very good one (not cheap though) If the laptop has USB3, get one fully USB3 compatible (USB3 allowing better throughput INTO the port rep from lappy) |

| 1305847 | 2012-10-08 21:16:00 | We're using a Toshiba Dynadock V with a Toshiba laptop, and every so often the screen just blanks out (the screen is fine), sending the display back to the laptop and rendering the attached keyboard and mouse unusable for a few seconds before it works again. This is after we had the dock replaced. The laptop does not have USB 3.0 ports, but I assume it would be backwards compatible anyway? Running the external display at 1920x1080. |
