| 1305074 | 2012-10-04 04:51:00 | Also, what version? | bob_doe_nz (92) | ||
| 1305075 | 2012-10-04 04:59:00 | I've bought a laptop without an os, so wanting to put xp on it. I'm not fussy on the version... xp professional would be preferable (is that the best?) |

| 1305080 | 2012-10-04 05:29:00 | Well my old desktop was 10+ years old, wanted a laptop too...wasn't the main reason but my trial of XP ran out... so yep, bought a laptop. And in case you're wondering the windows disc i had before was for an old dell laptop which was what stuffed things up for me because it was not the same model computer..wish i had known that before installing. | pct (16854) | ||
| 1305081 | 2012-10-04 05:31:00 | yeah the dell disc would have been OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and they're pretty well locked to whoever made the laptop. You can get an OEM license new and use it, but you're stuffed if you try and then transfer it. What's the specs on the new one anyway? |
