58024 2002-06-28 10:10:00 i downloaded two episodes of anime and they both ended in ".avi"
i know this is the standard movie file for windows media player
but both the epsidodes aren't playing, it comes up with an error saying that it was unabel to play that type of file.
Do i need some new sort of codec for windows media player or something? i've downloaded that sort of file many of times without problems, what is going on?

58025 2002-06-28 10:22:00 It's probably compressed with DivX:), Do a search on Google for DIVX PLAYERS to find a player, a good one is called THE PLAYA. Dragonslayer (512)
58026 2002-06-28 10:26:00 i already have divx and all the latest codecs for that, but the file i want to play is in some different format. thanks anyway.

58027 2002-06-28 11:26:00 right click, select properties and see what info you can get from it. there is a little program that may tell you what codec they used.

firstly thou try useing the divx player not windows player.
