| 57873 | 2002-06-27 21:20:00 | Hi again! I have an old computer with an 17gb HDD, the problem is that the motherboard has an 8.4gb limit, i have looked for a BIOS update but there is not one new enough to support this, I have currently been running it off a smaller (1.6gb) HDD with OnTrack Disk Drive Overlay. This works, but is 1) very slow and 2) i am wanting to remove the 1.6gb as it is starting to break down, so i am thinking of buying an IDE Controller, would this be suitable, or should i somehow just make it so my i make the 17gb bootable with the drive overlay. Also what sort of IDE controller would you recommend? Thanks a heap - David |
