57979 2002-06-28 07:30:00 well i installed drive image and after i'd set everything up the way i wants it (2 os's installed) i took an image of the 2 drives, and burnt that bad boy onto cd (as any sensible man would). so after like a week of installing the randomest stuff i could find, deleting junk, changing settings, and tweaking stuff, i finally ruined everything, and now i'm getting all these illegal operations, crashes, etc.
so i went "that's cool, i got an image"
so i stuck it in the drive, reboot, cool, going, going, answering questions, blah blah, click restore "sorry this is the eval copy, you can't restore".
waaaaaaaaap-waaaaaaaaaaappppppppppp.
so anyone have any ideas? i don't really want to BUY drive image, but i'm stuck with an image of a lovely clean system with everything set up the ways i likes it, aaaahhhhhh crap. can i use this image for anything? can i convert it to a norton ghost image possibly? is there another util that could be used to restore it?
last but not least, and i know this isn't nice, but does anyone know a good warez site that has drive image 5.0 so i can restore my lovely system??

chearz everyone.

57980 2002-06-28 07:43:00 Well Loser

You might just have to choke buy gasp the sucker!

Good things cost money and since you have invested plenty of money in your computer and valuable time in your setup, wouldn't it be a good investment to buy some insurance?

Ghost won't help you but it's quite possible that Drive Image might.

Next time you think you are getting an expensive program free on a Mag Disk, RTFM and check the fine print. Free lunches are rare and there's often a steep price to pay for warez.

Cheers

57982 2002-06-28 10:05:00 DriveCopy by PowerQuest for copying a partition or HDD is somewhat cheaper than Drive Image and could do what you want. Terry Porritt (14)
57983 2002-06-28 10:25:00 Try using KAZAA, im sure youll find it there, I know its spyware, but it may save you forking out hundredss for something youll use once. Dragonslayer (512)
57984 2002-06-29 12:26:00 I use Norton Ghost, it is 100% reliable & works from Dos. The whole thing fits on a floppy. Mzee (158)
