| 58304 | 2002-06-29 10:04:00 | Short answer: Hub is slower and cheaper, switch is faster and more expensive. For low traffic levels a hub will be fine but if there is a lot of network traffic go for the switch. Cheers Billy 8-{) |

| 58305 | 2002-06-29 10:42:00 | There is a huge difference between a Hub and a switch as far as stability of the network and file transfer speeds especially for Dos based Windows versions in my opinion. Personally I think a Hub is a piece of crap because of the differences and not worth bothering with at all. Hubs were probably fine when a switch cost the price of a second-hand car but now switches are far cheaper making the Hub (IMHO) a total waste of time and money. IMHO!!! |
