58306 2002-06-29 04:55:00 I want to upgrade. Only used 15" before. Any suggestions as to best buy 17" CRT around? Phillips 107S or 107T, Viewsonic etc.? rugila (214)
58307 2002-06-29 05:02:00 The philips as you get a 3 year onsite Warranty if any thing happens they come and get it and give you a loaner while they fix yours the flat model is great the 107T we use these at work if you want a price email me at roger@computerforce.co.nz Ro GER (524)

58309 2002-06-29 05:13:00 hehe I find that the AOC monitors provide a brighter and sharper image than the Phillips and you can pick them up for under 400 (17") email west jet computers if u want more info, I used to always be in their shop till they moved (they are in west auckland tho) good service.

Personally I think the SONY Trinitron series the best - [PERSONAL OPINION ONLY]

If you want to look at prices vs quality who knows I don't. But a bit of perspective (pricing) for a 17" Phillips 107T see

www.pricespy.co.nz

for hardware checks how about Toms Hardware site e.g.:

www4.tomshardware.com

Also I think NZ PC World did a series on monitors in one otheir issues?
Try a search on the NZ PC World main site.

58311 2002-06-29 08:23:00 Go here (www.radiativenz.com) for a run down on what to look for in a monitor.

I've got the AOC 7Klr 17" Flatscreen. It's capable of 1600*1200@75Hz. Can do more with unofficial drivers. It cost me $423 from Paradigm PC's (http://www.pp.co.nz)
