| 58380 | 2002-06-29 09:11:00 | Saturday, 29 June 2002, 08:04:55:p.m. On my desktop I have an enlarged folder that displays all the shortcuts that I use most often. I have a Pentium 3, 450Mhz, running Windows 98 SE. I have set the folder not to sort the shortcuts (there's about 20 odd) at all. But out of the blue, and irregularly, and for no apparent reason they get resorted, (usually by name), without me doing anything unusual. Is there a "command" or way that I can stop Win 98 SE from resorting the shortcuts and is there a way to turn it back on if I need to?? Any good advice appreciated and thanks. |

Arrange them in your folder in the order you want them then for the first folder rename it with 01 in front of its name, eg 01Outlook Express. (or even 01_Outlook Express or 01 Outlook Express, etc etc). The next one would be 02Word and so on. The leading zero for numbers below 10 will ensure that number 10 doesn't start the list. Once done, the folder can be sorted by name and you should never have them mucked up again. |
