| 58391 | 2002-06-29 12:01:00 | My computer supports standby with Windows ME, 98se, & Dos but does not with XP. The standby button is greyed out & it overrides the Bios in that the main switch will not go in to standby. I have tried all the Bios settings and the Windows Power Manager settings but it makes no difference. Microsoft say to update the Bios, but Award say no it should work. Any suggestions? |

| 58392 | 2002-06-29 12:06:00 | When you say Award says it should work - usually it is the motherboard manufacturer who customises and then bug fixes a bios, to suit the specific requirements of the hardware. Often, you will find, bios updates posted to fix e.g. ACPI compatibility for XP, where the ACPI worked fine for win9x. | wuppo (41) | ||
