| 58731 | 2002-08-30 09:12:00 | 50% of fans i use will take your finger off if you try useing it to stop the fan(they make fan grills for a reason). paper clip is liklyto damage the fan. far easier to unplug it. best bet is to use screw driver to listen with. with newish motherboards stopping the cpu fan will cause the motherboard to shutdown pc (to advoid overheating) |

| 58733 | 2002-08-30 14:59:00 | Last time i stopped a CPU fan with my finger to see if it was a bit noizy i proved that it was, but then it loudly ground itself to death starting from the moment i took my finger off it.. We replaced that fan that evening. Spose it would have had to have been done soon anyway. |
