59335 2002-07-03 01:10:00 I have just installed a Samsung RW combo Drive model SM-308 and I am using Easy CD creator 5 software. I have written to CD-R successfully but as a test exercise I copied a cd to a Mitsubishi CD-RW disc and then have been attempting to Rewrite to the same disc and the programme just rejects the disc in the write drawer. Is there some wiping action you have to take to erase the original information b4 you can reuse a CD-RW disc cant find any information in the help menu.

59336 2002-07-03 01:32:00 What OS are you using?
If you are using Windows XP there is an option under
My Computer, then your CDRW drive. It should say erase this CDRW.

I'm not familiar with easy CD creator 5 but have a look in the help file.

Good luck

59338 2002-07-03 04:58:00 Hello,

insert the disc, click my computer, right click your writers drive, click open, see if you can gain access, it may well be faulty or just too full. usually, no erasing is needed before using the disc, not unless you want to.

59339 2002-07-03 05:02:00 There should be an option in one of the windows to erase the CDRW. -=JM=- (16)

No. If the UDF software is working properly, you can treat a CD-RW just as if it were any other removable medium; like a Zip disk, for example. You can add files, delete them, overwrite etc.

If this is not available on your PC, delete Easy CD Creator and then re-install it. If correctly installed, the software will throw up an info dialog whenever you insert a CD-RW disc into the writer.

BTW, you will lose around 100MB of the max available storage capacity of your CD-RW media due to file system overhead. That's normal.

59341 2002-07-03 12:20:00 There are two methods of writing to a CD-RW.

You can use it like a floppy (drag and drop in explorer) or you can write it in something like Nero.
