59677 2002-07-04 03:57:00 I remember reading a letter to either PCworld, Imag or Netguide about adding an invalid e-mail to your address book. Could someone give me a link to that article if possible.

I know its not a 100% effective way of stopping viruses getting passed on, but hey i think it would be best to have it than not to have it.

59678 2002-07-04 06:14:00 Hi Sam,

Don't have the article or link. The entry in your Address Book is: _####

It appears right at the top of my Address Book even though I have addresses beginning with A. According to that article, since it's not a valid email address, any mass mailing virus will just stop there.
Touch wood haven't had any e-mail viruses coming thru yet. Running PCilin though. Hope this helps.

59679 2002-07-04 11:11:00 Thanks Sam H (525)
59680 2002-07-04 21:47:00 Doesn't work. Most viruses randomly select addresses from your address book rather than going through them one by one.

Buy AV software!

I know It's not very effective but it does work on a few, this is just an extra measure.
