59670 2002-07-04 00:59:00 A quick query...

If using Norton Ghost (or other similar programme) are you able to image greater than 700Mg (ie more than one CDR) for the purposes of restoring etc?

TIA

59673 2002-07-04 02:30:00 I save my Images to Hard Disk and then burn them onto a DVD+RW.
I can fit 3 PC images one the one DVD and they are available any time at all that I want them.

59674 2002-07-04 03:25:00 for the price of a dvd drive you could get a couple of 120gig hardrives and use them for backups. tweak'e (174)
59675 2002-07-04 03:26:00 Nero will image all of your HD. It does the whole partition, so unless you partition into smaller sizes, needs a lot of CD's. My primary partition fits onto 4 and so is not much of a hassle. Have a peek at their site for info.

59676 2002-07-04 03:56:00 Yes it does. I have been using Drive Image lately, and it prompts you to put the disks in as you go. It only estimates how many you will need at the start, so it may not be correct, but it usually over estimates ie, you need less discs tahn it thinks. (My clean install - no apps, just windows XP with updated drivers etc - fit onto 1 and a bit). It is best to label the discs 1, 2, 3 etc first as it asks you to insert each disc two or three times, plus more if you want to verify the image (Highly recommended) and it is easy to get lost amongst a pile of unlbelled discs.

You can do it with Ghost too.
