| 59600 | 2002-07-03 23:11:00 | Hi there can someone please let me know what I need to network 2 PC's running Windows 98? I know I need a network card in both machines. I already have one but what sort do I need to buy for the other computer. Also what cables do I need to buy from Dicksmith etc. Please help I would really apreciate it. Cheers |

| 59601 | 2002-07-03 23:32:00 | If you are only going to have the 2 machines on the network, you need a "crossover" cable, 10 base T. The cable length will be over to you but a 5m one is Cat XH3223 You are best to go with a 10/100 network card which will be catalogue XH7900. This assumes you have the common PCI slots and not older ISA slots in your computer. There are some excellent resources on networking pcs on the web.
