| 59592 | 2002-07-03 22:07:00 | Since we got the work computer approx 2 years ago, it has had problems sometimes shutting down. Seems to sit at the win98 is shutting down window and stops there. Not all the time. Just often enough to annoy. This morning it started in safe mode, message reading (so my boss says) too many times problems with shutting down. Please use diagnostics to fix. When we asked the supplier (just after he insatlled it) the explanation was that some win os had little gliches. Nothing to worry about. Is this something we should be concerned about. If so, how do we fix it. Running win98 networked to a win95. Any thought greatly appreciated. Thanks |

| 59595 | 2002-07-04 08:11:00 | Don`t know if this will be any help, but I`ve been having trouble for the last couple of days with shutting down. Checked out all the help bits etc and then came across a programme called Windows 98 Shutdown. Downloaded it and it installed itself (had to restart computer) Couldn`t actually find the programme anywhere, so tried shutting down and hey presto not a problem, no more hanging on the Windows Shutdown. Actually found it on the CNet website on their "download" page. The reviews seemed pretty good. Hope this is of some use to you Regards, Iris |

| 59596 | 2002-07-04 08:44:00 | The "program" Iris is referring to will likely be the Win 98 shutdown patch which installs itself (updates the windows software) when run - this is why it couldnt be found, its not a program but an update to something already installed. It will be just one of the many solutions referred to and available from the links above. |
