Bruce, when you're in need of a permanent job, as I am, you'll take anything :) and something like this would really suit my experience...

Mike.

59580 2002-07-05 11:12:00 Yes, I'll have a crack at it Bruce.

I'll send you my CV ASAP.

There's a big field out the back that will accomodate all your offices. I'm sure the local rugby team won't mind since they aren't using it at the mo..

:D

lol, try 800+ Users from the "where is the start menu" to people who just need the RTFS syndrome.
Approx 700 PC's ranging from p75 (yes pentium 75) to piii 1GB machines made by the lowest bidder. or in other words utter Cr#p. about 80 network printers, numerous peripherals that are not compatable with your slower machines.
Place all of this equipment into a LAN spread over a 3 square km area. using a fiber backbone (lots of mice) and a mix of antiquated hubs and switches. then add xtreme weather conditions (eg 3ft of snow), single phase power and a bit of rain. 4 of us take care of the entire setup.

Last count we were running over 2000 applications, 5 diff operating systems, and approx 500 databases created by users who dabble a bit, but have no actual idea how a db works or what vb is.

Yep I would love to deal with just 60 people, sounds like paradise. :)

If you don't believe me feel free to come for a visit (I ain't joking)

Well considering that he is from WAIOURU I'm picking that the Army must have a computer network.
