59882 2002-07-04 11:33:00 Hi people,I have an old PC Direct 580 Discovery P166,and I have just recently upgraded to 98se.Since then,my monitor won't shut off after a certian time as it did under 95.I assume this is because the video drivers are the original 95 ones, and aren't compatable with 98.Am I right? Also, the monitor has no manufacturer labels on it,only PC direct,so I can't pick from a list of monitors in windows if I try to change the settings to make it switch off. With PC direct not around anymore,I don't know where to get any info on the system from.
Any ideas?

Thanks guys(and dolls)

Peter

59883 2002-07-05 08:26:00 I also have a pc direct monitor, but not too much on the monitor to help.
The front of the screen has pc direct,SVGA MPR11.
The back has on it a p/n, s/n, crt 0:28. I also have the users manual, but no specs. as to who made it . I have upgraded my vidio card and have no problems shutting down.

59884 2002-07-05 10:06:00 Hi peter,

I have a PC Direct Discovery 580 running Windows98SE. I suggest you check your Settings..Control Panel...Power Management. Ensure that on the Power Schemes Tab that Power Scemes is set to Always on....and then below in Settings for Power Schemes box that "Turn Monitor off" is specified for after a certain time....mine is set to 15 mins. hope this helps
