2002-07-07 00:01:00 | Hi, There are some well hidden instructions somewhere on the Xtra / MSN site. Basically they don't give you a lot of options - you have to form a new, or join an existing "community" and then you get a few pre-formatted pages where you can stick photos and text and run a sort of chat room with your mates. I think you have to have a Microsoft Passport to join. Have a look at http://groups.msn.com/ This is where you sign up. Regards, andy

2002-07-07 02:00:00 | Call me a bastard, but i love quoting telecon " Your Space Online Create your own web site - you decide the topic and what you want on it! They are easy to create using our template and they're free. Access it from anywhere." Access it from ANYWHERE! woohoo! could you beleive it? Genuine xtra webspace that you can access from anywhere! Next they'll suggest putting it on the interweb, or some new fangled communication age thing............. On a more serious note, sorry to say this Kibito, but i think you are better of looking at www.angelfire.com, www.bravenet.com www.geocities.com and the likes and using the free space that they provide. You get the accational add over the start of your page, but atleast they let you have a sizable page, last time i checked xtras pages had a piddling 1 meg size limit. Free space will also let it be EXACTLY what you design it to be. templates!!!! sheesh! The best choice would be to use the 10 meg space that all ISPs (except xtra) provide. Perhaps you have a friend not using thiers? failing that i recomend angelfire as the best "free" server.

2002-07-07 08:32:00 | JM, I have set up a trial page on Orcon, its great. Never done anything on web pages before, so its been a learning curve. Do you know if they have terms and conditions regarding the use of the webspace, because I have looked around and cannot see any?

2002-07-07 11:01:00 | Hi Kibito, There are also some other Free-Hosted websites about that vary in size, with Terms & Conditions as to home or business use and advertising banners etc! I am presently building a site at www.Host4Free,and although they only give you 3Mb, has the advantage of no advertising of any description. It also has a unique domain name that I consider cute!(for a better word) "letsgo.to/username" BTW,This is a NZ host Godfather,The terms & Conditions for Orcon are on their "SUPPORT"page and very vague,in my opinion!I also have to assume you have to use them as your ISP? Happy computing,Cheers,Kiwitas,;-)B-)

2002-07-07 11:16:00 | ummm there are bound to be some somewhere. ohh here (www.orcon.net.nz) it is. ;) another thing that I do know is that they claim to have a file limit of 500K though I've had 5MB files uploaded before.

2002-07-07 11:21:00 | Thanks JM - that was well hidden... It seems too good to be true, and works too well.. I was wondering if there was any restriction on using it for commercial activities and see there isnt. (not file transfer, just info publication) hmmm.....now to find the time!
