2002-07-06 10:31:00 | is Jetway Intel 815/VGA/ AUD my video card or something or motherboard? | vk_dre (195) | |
2002-07-06 11:11:00 | you have a jetway motherboard which has an intel 815 chipset. the video(vga) is built into the chipset(normally called onboard graphics). its done that way to make a cheaper pc thats will do office apps, web surfing, and basic games. serious games and 3d graphics require a much faster video card. | tweak'e (174) | |
2002-07-06 11:14:00 | Jetway is the motherboard, intel 815 is the onboard video/audio chip (its not a card, its part of the motherboard) If you try a search on the words jetway intel 815 on www.google.co.nz I am sure you will find lots of details.

2002-07-06 11:16:00 | Actually tweak'e you would be surprised how well MOHAA plays on the 810 chipset with opengl drivers on my P3 667/256Mb ram system. | godfather (25) | |

2002-07-06 11:42:00 | when you say "stuffed up" do you mean it won't run, thats not a very descriptive comment. Have you loaded the correct opengl drivers from the intel website, and what operating system? Some games will run with onboard video, but its a big ask really, they are not really designed for the top end games. Sometimes you will have difficulty installing a separate video card also as it can conflict with the on-board which sometimes cannot be disabled. And then some games will run acceptably it seems

2002-07-06 11:52:00 | sorry godfather, by saying "stuffed up" i meant that it still loaded the game but the games kept "coughing & struggling" for every frame and it was and still is virtually imossible to move while in the game. the games used to work on win me before i reformatted and installed win xp, and i searched google nz for jetway intel and found their site and i am currently downloading some file for the intel 815 chipset from their site. wot else should i do?

2002-07-06 11:58:00 | Not being a gamer I can't be much more help. I won MOHAA from PCworld this week, and I have the older 810 chipset. Havent played far into it, but under XP (P3, 667 MHZ, 256 ram) my HP Pavilion seems to run amazingly smooth. I didnt expect it to File I used was win2k_xp66.exe, if thats any guide (but it may be only for 810?)

2002-07-06 12:08:00 | thanks anyway godfather and congratulations for winning the game, and what site did u download that file from godfather, is it the same jetway site like mine? | vk_dre (195) | |
2002-07-07 04:22:00 | No, as you have noted yourself, its an Intel chipset so I got the latest from Intel. I found it in 5 seconds using www.google.co.nz with intel 815 drivers as the search phrase, its the first of 10,400 sites. Do you not use google as a resource? www.intel.com Without the drivers it refused to run as it needed opengl, drivers installed fine and game runs
