60220 2002-07-06 05:06:00 Brendon, I'm not sure you can create a bootable DOS floppy from within Win2k (you can in WinXP although that's all you get a boot!). I tend to use Win98/WinME boot diskettes or CDGod. See also Graham L's reply in pressf1.co.nz

60221 2002-07-06 06:37:00 To create a Windows 2000 Professional bootable diskette you will need four 1.44MB diskettes and the Windows 2000 Professional CD.

Click Start / Run / browse to the CD-ROM drive.
Open the Boot disk folder and double-click makeboot.exe and click ok to launch the program to create the diskette.

60222 2002-07-06 07:51:00 Don't confuse the Windows Setup Disks with a boot disk.

It is possible to create a boot disk - but it is not covered in Windows 2000.
It was covered in the training material for NT 4.0 before being discontinued. The information is within the MS knowledgebase - "nt boot disk".

To boot to DOS requies either:
A boot disk described above plus 2000 installed on FAT32, or

A boot disk described above plus a FAT16 or FAT32 formatted drive.
