| 60645 | 2002-07-08 00:23:00 | Hello, I have problem with windows98se when starting up, first when I turn on the computer it loads into the windows screen then it stays like that for about 4 minutes then it goes into the main screen with desktop and start menu etc. what can I do to stop the slow boot up? | GreatGreenPie (918) | ||
| 60646 | 2002-07-08 00:31:00 | not much info to go on, two things to check in your start/programs/startup these run when you boot into windows, simply delete them if you don't want them to run next type "msconfig" from the start/run command and check the startup tab, be CAREFUL here if you don't know what it is don't remove the tick, leave all of the loadpowerprofiles in also run a scandisk standard, then defrag you harddrive both of these options are found in start/programs/accessories/system tools any thing else provide more info Paladin |

Press F8 during the POST and select Safe Mode from menu. This closes down all other running programs. |
