60739 2002-07-08 05:03:00 Forgive my ignorance
Can I add new files to a CD-RW that already has files written to it or do I have to rewrite the existing files when I add the new ones.

Thanks in advance
Davesdad.

60740 2002-07-08 05:21:00 Usually you can get away with just adding files. It depends on the software you use. I prefer Nero over easy CD creator by a long shot.

It may also depend on what format you have made the cd. (eg multisession)

Generally what happens (or what is supposed to) the table of contents gets over written. You software should be able to handle this. To add files you generally just start a new session.

I am intending to use the standard winxp burning software.
Will this allow new files to be added later

60742 2002-07-08 08:57:00 Hello,

I quess you are using recordnow program that came with xp home edition?

You can continue to add folders etc, to your cdr-w disc, although it doesnt allow for drag and drop, you have to use the program each time you wish to add to the disc.

It will generally overwrite any file or folder on the disc, that is the same as the file or folder you are going to place on the disc, eg: updating a folder etc.

good luck,

Bob
