60974 2002-07-09 08:18:00 Hi everyone

How do you uninstall Nortons? I want to substitute it with MacAfee as I won a copy and its got a nice box/packaging. Plus I got a free optical mouse with it as well

60975 2002-07-09 08:25:00 Start, control panel, add remove programs, highlight Norton Anti Virus and click remove. Sam H (525)

In Add-Remove Programmes, delete Nortons, Live update & Live reg. Then go. Start-Search- Nortons. Delete all Nortons entries. Go New Search- Symantec & again delete all entries. Your system should now be clear of all traces of Nortons & when you reinstall it (as you probably will ) you will have another 12 months of free updates.

Good luck.

60978 2002-07-09 09:55:00 Hi Susan B,

You'll be sorry!No-one uses McAfee,even for free!

Leave the wrapper on the nice box and advertise it on Trade-Me,
there's always someone who doesn't know the score!

Then your new mouse won't catch a virus.

Cheers,Kiwitas,:-P;-)

60979 2002-07-09 10:15:00 Bah! Norton is overbloated and an on-going expense . I tried both on my 98se machine - McAffe won the day .

Oh, granted the McAffee firewall thing poked things up a bit, but hell, ZA is much better for that . .

60980 2002-07-09 11:08:00 Sorry guys, but it's still the school holidays and someone is having a good laff at our expense .

If you look closely at the original post my name is spelt wrong and it has a full-stop whereas mine doesn't .

One more giveaway is the fact that this alias has only 4 posts so far compared to my 300 plus (good grief, that many?!) .

There are other versions of "Susan B" out there at the moment too so to get your laffs just check those statistics for the real identity . ;-)

I guessed it wasn't you so I just assumed than that person posing as you actually needed help with her problem even though they were posting as you.
