1306530 2012-10-12 05:07:00 Anyone have this card? There are some on trademe but the seller doesnt allow pickups and I need one asap! If you live around Auckland than I will be more than happy to pick it up and drop it off after use. Or if you know any shops that sell it than please let me know. I have checked on google but couldnt find any shops listed as selling them.

Thanks

1306531 2012-10-12 05:53:00 Ask the seller nicely if they'd make an exception? The Error Guy (14052)
1306532 2012-10-12 06:06:00 Worth a shot. Doesn't seem to be any other dealers. ChazTheGeek (16619)

1306534 2012-10-12 08:00:00 Do those cards actually work?

Are some better than others?

Is it worth having one stored away, just in case?

1306535 2012-10-13 05:24:00 I bought a cheap one once, it wasn't very good. Worked with one old Socket 7 board and was pretty useless for anything else.

I expect you may need different ones for different chipsets etc.

The sorts of problems they claim to detect are the kind of things most people would have no capability to fix anyway.

Bought the card today for $7.50, have an old IBM (Pentium 3, Win NT) server at work that was running our swipe card system, it has crapped itself so need to see whats wrong with it. I dont get any video so at the moment just wondering if its a vga port issue. The MB powers ups, so does the raid controller and hard drive, but no video.

Quite a few years ago I was looking at one and it was several thousand.

So do the usual troubleshooting... swap video cards, check BIOS battery, etc..
