| 1306182 | 2012-10-10 04:25:00 | Hi All. When I want to change a folder's name on the server, it freezes for about 30 seconds before accepting the change. Also, when opening and saving word and excel files from the server, it can take up to 60 seconds. The server and my pc are both Win7 64bit Any ideas? Thanks. |

| 1306185 | 2012-10-15 02:05:00 | I've seen mapped drives / network drive cause this sort of problem. These are "shares" on someone elses computer (or SAN, or NAS) that are no directly attached to your PC. In particular connecting to a share that is off-line can cause these freeezing problem; Windows attempt to connect, and times-out some time later. To see most of your connected network drives, Start... Run... CMD (as administrator if possible) then type in this command NET USE > TEMP.TXT TYPE TEMP.TXT All drives should be "OK". If you see "disconnected", try deleting the drive with NET USE driveletter /DELETE By the way, deleting the drive does not delete the drive :) It just deletes your reference to the drive. |
