| 1305945 | 2012-10-09 01:24:00 | Hi Guys I have a friend with a desktop machine with Vista on it. It is very slow on broadband surfing and Youtube etc I wonder if I should try to clear out a lot of junk on it Or would I be better to upgrade it to Windows 7 ? |

SP1 wouldn't install until I downloaded the 5 language package from Microsoft. The update version was only 1.9mgs. Go for Win7, way easier! | Bryan (147) | ||

But slow internet is not anything to do with the PC itself. If the PC has bloat and needs a reinstall, then what will be slow is boot and opening programs and so on. I just finished one, thought it was going to be a bloat problem, esp due to the length of time it's had windows, but no......the HDD was 99% full. Installed a 500GB (old one was 80GB) , imaged it across as is, and voila, problems have vanished. |
