2012-10-09 00:26:00 | Hi, I have a P5Q motherboard, Intel Q8200 2.33. The OEM Intel HSF is loose. I cannot push two of its clips down. I like a suggestion of a new HSF please. Not toooo expensive, not required but a bonus is that it is more quiet. Not overclocking. Don't mind, as it is a once off install but do some need to remove the motherboard and attach something underneath it to secure .... If I can like to make purchase today (online). Currently the tower case is on its side so the HSF isn't loose. www.asus.co.nz :thanks

2012-10-09 00:32:00 | cooler master hyper 212 evo. very good cpu heat sync and fan even for overclocking, very cheap and quiet. but looking at the heat syncs on you mobo im not sure if it wil clear those but it may just be the angel in the pics. | Slankydudl (16687) | |
2012-10-09 00:36:00 | The hyper 212+ evo is a good cooler and a reasonable choice, almost the default standard these days. Also if you take the stock cooler off and look closely at the clips you may find that by pulling the white centre piece down it will work properly, they sometimes get pushed up into the black plastic body of the "legs" and won't engage properly. www.pp.co.nz

2012-10-09 04:07:00 | Notice that the third-party coolers have a back-plate to secure the cooler, is this back-plate made of non-conductor of electricity? Safe to use on all MBs? | bk T (215) | |
2012-10-09 04:33:00 | They are all usually made of metal an thus only designed for certain sockets otherwise it could create short circuits. Since you dont want to overclock just look for the cheapest one you can find as i dont think you can actuly buy ones that are worse than stock | Slankydudl (16687) | |
