2012-06-19 02:42:00 | Looks much more useful than an iPad, but yet to really see how well it performs. And it was the most boring, long-winded buildup to an announcement in a long time. | inphinity (7274) | |

2012-06-19 04:09:00 | I'm liking what they've released so far. Love the spec requirements for Windows RT too, nice and high. :) Hardware buttons: Must have five hardware buttons - 'Power', 'Rotation lock', 'Windows Key', 'Volume-up', 'Volume-down'. The Windows Key to be at least 10.5 mm in diameter. 5-point digitizers: Microsoft requires that Windows 8 touch PCs use digitizers supporting a minimum of 5 touch points. Mobile Broadband: If a mobile broadband device is integrated into a tablet or convertible system, then an assisted GPS radio is required Display: Minimum native resolution/color depth is 1366x768 at a depth of 32-bits. The physical dimensions of the display panel must match the aspect ratio of the native resolution. The native resolution of the panel can be greater than 1366 (horizontally) and 768 (vertically). Near field communication: Devices supporting NFC need to have visual marks to help users locate and use the proximity technology. New button combination for Control-Alt-Delete: The new option is to press Windows Key + Power. Storage: At least 10 GB free space, after the out-of-box experience completes. Graphics: Direct3D 10 device with WDDM 1.2 driver Camera: Minimum resolution 1280 x 720[4] Ambient light sensor: 1-30k lux capable with dynamic range of 5-60K. Accelerometer: 3 axes with data rates at or above 50 Hz Magnetometer and gyroscope USB 2.0: At least one controller and exposed port. Networking: WLAN and Bluetooth 4.0 + LE (low energy) System firmware: UEFI Built-in speaker and microphone

2012-06-19 04:12:00 | Just read it on another forum as well. Its what I was waiting for. Been using Windows 8 on a desktop in the lounge since the Latest version, and to be honest Its actually working damn good. Even the Mrs said she wouldn't mind the Tablet version once its available, so I'm allowed to get it as long as I make the order 2 ( guess who has to pay for them lol).

2012-06-19 05:04:00 | Pro tablet priced the same as a ultra book, so that is anywhere between $ 1500- 3000. | plod (107) | |
2012-06-19 05:11:00 | If it had ethernet I could use it, but it doesnt, so that rules it out for me. | Iantech (16386) | |
2012-06-19 05:27:00 | Wonder if it will have expandable internal storage options? Looks like alot of thought has gone into it but I don't think Win 8 on a desktop has many advantages over Win 7 though a lighter footprint on a Netbook would be better

2012-06-19 11:29:00 | AND the jokes start instantly. From a friends Facebook Page: Microsoft have announced their own tablet. Take two with water for instant death during a Windows Service Pack update.:p
