1282216 2012-06-17 09:30:00 I guess what is the meaning of median. It might be security IT with intermediate level ie., 5yrs experience related to that specifically not counting the time it took you to get into that field after doing helpdek and what not.

I know that in office analyst, entry jobs might be $40-50k with some yrs you could hit 70k with the top end being maybe 80k before you get to supervisor level.

1282217 2012-06-17 09:30:00 A lot of responsibility in the tech world to keep the said systems up and running efficiently. Any cowboy/girl who thinks that they can make a quick buck is joking. Learn your ABC's, get plenty of experiance working in the coal mines of the industry before launching to the top. Otherwise you find yourself in a shitbox of trouble. The Error Guy (14052)
1282218 2012-06-17 10:30:00 I think those IT roles might have been taken from the big IT firms or large private or govt depts. Corporate IT or even contracting.
I know someone who works with a computer shop for many yrs now, he's quite reserved but happy with it, those areas may not get much rise in pay.

Where I have worked at, IT people incl testers might be more than some office workers, generally speaking. At least their salary mid point is higher per the level ie., entry, intermediate and senior. But thing is you need to get into those positions.
