1282118 2012-06-17 00:48:00 Earlier this year I helped my daughter sign up for a naked broadband plan and gave them my credit card details for the initial costs.

Just looked at my bank account today and find that there has been a "payment" to Slingshot for $80 ... without my knowledge or consent.

Does anyone have a number for someone higher up than just customer service ... I really can't be stuffed going through the hassle of being bumped around for hours.

I will of course be phoning the bank and possibly the Police over this ... there's no way they had authority to use my credit card details for anything other than the initial connection costs.

1282119 2012-06-17 01:17:00 I think how it usually works is if you sign up using a credit card, it is stored on your account & is only billed if you don't pay by another method before the due date. There is probably something buried in the terms & conditions somewhere. Greven (91)

Had that happen with another ISP. I made it quite plain the payment I made with my credit card was a one off but they still ended up using it again without permission so will never use a CC for that sort of transaction again.

I could understand that ... but it's NOT my account. As far as I know, and from what my daughter has told me, the account has been paid regularly.

The police won't care.
We get that at work sometimes, when signing up there is a LINE IN BIG LETTERS that says if you tick "this" it means this credit card is used for recurring billing.

Ages later they say they never agreed to it.
Similar thing I bet. Although I guess if you didn't tick a box you might have a point.

As for higher ups numbers, good luck with that, this is one reason Slingshot suck, no Customer Service.

Just go to Visa and lodge a disputed transaction, that will get their attention.

1282123 2012-06-17 06:50:00 As above lodge a compalint to your credit card company!

One thing I found with Slingshot direct billing, which has happend to us. Is if you max out your credit card (we have $2k limit :) )the payment will bounce. The following month you get charged a late fee of $5 hidden in the billing and then get the email/letter telling you the payment was missed and you then have to re enter your card details again.

1282124 2012-06-17 22:26:00 Slingshit are a bunch of psychotic clowns, you will believe me by the time they fail to
sort your issue out and leave smartar*e unhelpful messages on your cellphone.
(that's my experience of dealing with the incompetent buffoons anyway)

But... good luck.

1282125 2012-06-17 23:06:00 Unfortunately you have little choice *but* to go through to their Billing. You must start the process the right way, in case it ever gets to the point of needing to go to the TDR (Who basically spend 95% of their time doing billing queries).

I have the details of everybody you could ever need from there (Having had "fun" myself at the start of the year, followed by them trying to send me to debt collectors last month), but they'll simply refer you to Accounts first and foremost. Just the process you have to follow..

1282126 2012-06-17 23:11:00 Genesis did a similar act once using my credit card. I rang them and told them to stop using my credit card on a certain payment date as I wanted to pay by cheque thereafter. They ignored this request and used the card again for the next payment. I rang them and told them I was very pissed off at them and insisted they credit my card back immediately. They did so within a day or so. I suggest you either try something similar or contact your bank and get them to cancel that payment as it is disputed. user (1404)
